this post is way overdue.
thanksgiving was awesome! i really could have done without the random readings & assignments, but ehh! played a lot w/ isabelle. she's super fun! she followed me around the first day i got in. "yee?" hahaha. it makes my heart smile. =) "isabelle, SHH!" 'she looks like such a winner.' haha. hung out at home for the most part. didnt get to see my other half as much, but it's okay. that was a super busy weekend. OH. that car accident that happened RIGHT in front of me was freaking crazy! but it just makes you that much more thankful for everything, right? heh. yea. this paragraph is already all over the place. lots of shopping! makes me excited to go christmas shopping. but not. =P
the home stretch is here.
7 more days of school?! SHIT! FACK! i didnt realize it was that little! .. FACK! now i'm feeling overwhemled again. eesh. =/
so! totally random, but in class last night, one of our assignments was to read this article from fortune.com titled "trophy husbands." it basically discussed how women have ascended the ladders in their careers faster than their husbands - which left them to be the stay at home dad. in most of the instances listed, it seemed so simple. but there are costs that come with it. for women, you give up spending that time with your kids & your kids may be more attached to your husband than they are to you. then for the men, doing the house chores & going shopping in the afternoon may make you somewhat of an outcast from the other men. it really is about our society still. i think we're still behind in the whole 'men & women are equal' factor. because.. that's just not how it is. but if you were a guy & your wife was making more money than you, would you let her be the sole income provider? would you be willing to put your career on hold as hers accelerates? that's a hard question. it's just assumed in our society that women would stay at home with the kids, cook dinner, and the men go out & work. well, both are important jobs. blaah. someone in class made a comment about how.. it may be an ego thing for women. it may get to their heads. but honestly? i would probably be one of those. haha.. it's bad because we're being taught to be humble as leaders, but really - women are still so behind when it comes to the corporate world. sure, there are some that have found their way up there, but there still is a lot of inequality. so, if that were to happen, where the woman surpasses her husband, i would think it'd be reasonable for the guy to give up his career for a little bit. or find alternative ways to still work. blah. whatever. it was a great discussion. then my teacher threw out statistics, where 53% (give or take a few percentages) get divorced because of this issue. .. or maybe that was the statistic for couples where one has a high school degree and the other has a bachelors degree. mm.. *shrug* good stuff. must remind myself to talk about this with potential future husbands. (soooo far from now. =P)
mm.. i have 19 hours of work this weekend & i have to work on a 3 page (single spaced) paper, 2 presentations, finish up researching & write my theory in practice (5 chapters x 1.5 pages each = 7.5 pages to write). mm.. yum. then the weekend before finals, just need to catch up on reading for leadership & study for marketing & then i'll be DONE. with the semester. my last FALL semester! wow! crazy!
... but it's SO not fun right now. rawr. >=/

at work, we apparently have a cd player that is timed to play certain tracks on the cd. so, christmas songs played for the first time yesterday. haha.. it's really way too early! but it does put you in a better mood. =)
aja's birthday party was yesterday! she's two today! man, time flies! that astro jump was scary! haha.. afterwards, i went home for 3 hours & did some school work, then back out. "really, what are you going to do in the next 2 hours?" rawr. haha.. went up to anahiem w/ diana & karl for bethanie's party. traffic. "we've been through this before! just turn your car off." haha.. so horrible. bingo! so cool!
i'm SO excited to go back home this week! but kinda bummed that i have to take a few hours out of my "break" to work on a book report & read a chapter for a quiz on the following tuesday. bahh.

sometimes my memory sucks.
read chapter 9 last night. all of it but a few pages. planned to go to school early to finish & study questions posted on webct. i totally forgot the parking pass diana dropped off for me last night in my mailbox. i was crossing the bridge over the 15 when i remembered, so i had to go past it to make a uturn at the next light. that took an extra 20 minutes. boo! when i got to school, i saw that questions posted on webct were for chapter 10! ya, i totally forgot he skipped 9. -.- so i freaked out for the following 45 minutes & tried cramming it all in my head. the presentation semi helped. ended up getting a 7/10 - which was the same score as those who did read! *whew!* SO lucked out.
here's the funny story of the day. which only a few may appreciate. or find as funny. haha.. so! in leadership, we were doing role plays.. our word was credibility. our skit went like this:
n: so have you heard about this Y2K thing?
t: YEA! i wonder what's going to happen to my computer!
k: i heard it melts your hard-drive. I KNOW! let's call aaron over. he solved this problem in Y1999!
t: okay. let me call him over. *KRRR* (like an intercom/walkie talkie)
blahblah. & it went on..but i totally killed it! because i got too excited practicing it that when we were up there, it wasnt as effective &/or as LOUD! you know.. the *KRR* part! i was all like "I'LL DO IT! it's how i LAUGH!" hahaha.. =P
i already hate this weekend. =( how horrible is that. =(
it's been a MONTH since i bought my new shoes & i JUST wore them today. haha.. lame, huh? i also wanted to return that huge can they coerced me into buying. rawr. get my $6 back. =) it's super lame because i go to the mall every weekend, but i just dont go anywhere except to work.
life has been.. i dont know for me. it's really nothing new. i find it a tad on the disappointing side. for school. & for my personal life. whatevers. blaaah.

today shall be labeled.. get stuff for free day.
hahaha.. my group presented today in my 10am class & we gave out snickers & $5 starbucks giftcards (which by the way come in cool little holders!). then in my 1pm class, we had a film presentation & this one guy sitting next to me won a prize - which was a bag full of candy! so he split a whole bunch of lifesavers w/ everyone. so that means i have random candies in my bag. =P then! nothing in my 5pm class. haha.. but after that, SIE was having an event, so i went. LOTS of food! ended up taking the whole platter of brownie bites! but gave them to the lehmans because i knew i'd get super sick of them! rawr. PLUS! they called around the other day when i was randomly looking for a globe! haha.. <3
my brother & i were talking about engravings for the ipod. this was his suggestion:

my weekend was.. wait, WHAT weekend?? yar. it was definitely not a weekend. just an extension of the school week. i had a more detailed blog, but my laptop malfunctioned & it didnt save. RAWR!
FRIDAY- horrible morning!
. had to drop off cousin.
. didnt know destination was in del mar; got lost!
. fword used a whole fwording lot. >=T annoyance!
- was 40 minutes late in meeting up w/ patrice!
. but she totally made my day so much better!

. after taking 20 minutes to GET OUT of the mall parking lot.

. dropped him off; sped off to school.
- 6pm. yea, 2 HOURS after i got off - arrived at school.
. "where are you?" i HATE being late! so i do NOT like those who make me late!
. brittany & jessica are sooo funn! we laughed so much for studying/working a project on a friday night! haha..
. "what, you dont like times new roman?" 'no, its UGLY!' "but its default!" 'i dont care!'
. coming from a person who hasnt talked all semester: "are you ready to ROCK?!" HAHA.. 'dont steal our thunder!' team stealing thunder! hahaha..
- had to leave for 25 minutes to go lock the door at the store because candis forgot her keys.
- 5 HOURS later, finished w/ everything. executive summary, teaching plan, game/word search, power point, 4 multiple choice questions. YAY us.
- hung out w/ clare, adam & shaun for a little bit.
. crazy kids. haha.. definitely a fun place to be!
. brownie & ice cream = DINNER! har. actually, lunch too. -.-
overall = a LOT of annoyance, but
some good points. wayy too much driving.
SATURDAY- work 11-4.

during the semester, i seriously check my school email every other hour. so, it's obviously bothering me that i cant access it right now. BLAH!
i heart my coworkers. hahaha.. they're so funn! for 3 of us, we have this thing where we scream the person's name when we go in the back. usually, i see/hear them come in the back, but i still scream anyways! haha.. but the other day, i totally didnt hear candis come in the back, so when she was like "TERESA!" i SCREAMED! SO. LOUD. hahaha.. mm.. ya. i have awesome coworkers. =)
i find it quite sad that i have to plan in advance when i can hang out w/ people. blaah. =( but i already know most of my days are planned already. rawr! NO. FUN.
the other day, debb & i were talking about being able to talk to people who have the same major as you.. talk in the same language, basically. understand the concepts or certain words that were used. for example, if someone who was a bio/chem/cs/lit/whatever major was talking to me about ______, i probably wouldnt understand. or it'd take forever for them to explain it to me before they can move on w/ the conversation. anyways, i was checking the webct discussion board for my 444 class & seriously.. it cracked me up. ya. i find it amusing when things i talk about happen. or. yea. haha.. rambling now. end thought.
mm, the next 5 weeks are going to be a blur~
